These soft little cookies were made from regular cupcake batter, piped onto a lined baking sheet, then filled with a swirl of jam and cream. And yes, they resemble French macarons. But they are so much easier to make than macarons, with none of the frustration or effort!
You can also fill these treats with caramel or your favourite version of butter icing. They are delicate, yet really simple – perfect for a special teatime treat.

With winter in full swing it is time to take celebrations indoors. With the golden warmth of a lit fire, rich colours, bold textures and indulgent eats, moody winter weddings are the epitome of romance. Emma Frost and Jessica Ellis form Supernatural Floral Design Studio dreamed up this intimate feast. They set the scene for the moments as the bridal couple retreats inside to relax and reflect on the day that has passed.
The sun is going down, a fire’s been lit and candles are dotted around the room. The last of the meal’s debris is still on the table; almost empty coffee and wine glasses, fine sprinklings of icing sugar, nibbled at stewed pears, lip stained napkins and an uneaten raspberry pie the couple share in front of the fireplace. Fly-on-the-wall photographer, Rebecca Meissner, from Love Made Visible captured this intimate occassion.view more
The excitement of Brendyn and Stacey’s heart warming union could be felt the moment guests entered the dreamy realm of Natte Valleij. They said “i do’ in the virtuous and fresh surroundings of the estate gardens and continued the merriment of the day’s celebrations. Embracing the Cape Dutch architecture as backdrop, the decor and flower designs reflected warmth, lots of personal touches and DIY inspiration.
Stacey’s flawless beauty hasn’t gone unnoticed either and we have to state that we love her ensemble of hair, make-up and dress that seems to suit her personality like a glove. And lastly, the couple images are an exquisite keepsake. Kim Du Toit Photography was the lady behind the lens.view more
We kick of our happy weekend with the gorgeous wedding of Ben and Tyler, captured by Laura Gordon Photography. The joyful couple casually decided to do a ‘first look’ shoot, followed by an intimate ceremony on the very top of a hill where they were surrounded by mountains and a breathtaking view. The happiness then continued as they celebrated their marriage at the beautiful Panorama Farms in Earlysville.
This wedding was adorned with visual inspiration and detail that we find fresh, unpretentious and timelessly classic and equal admiration is given to Tyler’s choice for her bridal attire and gorgeous bouquet. Enjoy.view more
